She’s also successfully pitched numerous stories to local beat reporters to promote Walt Disney World Resort’s impactful community programs and deeply-rooted philanthropic efforts.

Chelsea first began her communications career by joining the health, sports and fitness public relations firm, 180 Communications. During her time at 180, she learned the foundation of a successful outreach program and fell in love with the field of public relations. She later joined nonprofit advocacy group Disability Rights Florida, where she made significant updates to the organization’s online donation process and further sharpened her HTML skills.

In 2013, Chelsea joined the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), serving as the public information officer, deputy director of communications and director of communications for the agency. As leader of the DBPR communications office, Chelsea restructured and led a team of creative professionals from a variety of backgrounds, served as the agency’s lead spokesperson, cultivated positive relationships with local, state and national reporters, and successfully set new agency records on numerous recurring programs and initiatives. Then in September 2016, Chelsea joined the Florida Department of Revenue’s communications team as deputy communications director where she led communications efforts for more than 5,000 employees, redirected the agency’s media strategies, developed and implemented department-wide media policies and created internal tracking systems to facilitate measuring of media inquiries. After displaying success in identifying internal efficiencies and cost savings, Chelsea was appointed to serve as the Department’s chief performance officer in January 2018. In this role, she made several data-driven recommendations to executive leadership that led to lower program costs and the centralization of critical support services, like IT.
